Includes papers of Joseph Gardner Wilson (1830-1873), Oregon Supreme Court judge and member of Congress, including business ledgers and accounts (3 volumes); correspondence, 1877-1890, of Joseph's wife Elizabeth Millar Wilson (1830-1913), with information on the founding of schools in Oregon; memoranda of transactions, 1894-1910, between Elizabeth Millar Wilson and her son, Frederick Wallace Wilson (1872-1954); papers of Frederick Wallace Wilson, Circuit Court judge and author, including personal ledger (1 volume), speeches, 1932-1941, and business records of the Columbia Packing Company (1895-1906), The Dalles, Deschutes, & Portage Railroad & Navigation Co. (1891-1916), and The Dalles Brick & Tile Co. (1910-1916); legal papers; deeds and abstracts; family memorabilia; and memoirs of Alfred D. Wilson, probably written in the early 19th century. Also includes a scrapbook and transcript relating to a testimonial dinner honoring Frederick Wallace Wilson, 1942 (formerly designated Mss 2167-1).

Joseph Gardner Wilson (1830-1873) was an Oregon Supreme Court justice who came to the state in 1852. He was elected to Congress in 1872 but died the following year in Ohio. His wife was Elizabeth Millar Wilson (1830-1913) and his son was Circuit Court Judge Frederick Wallace Wilson of The Dalles (1872-1954). A pioneer who traveled West in 1851 to teach in The Dalles, OR, Wilson married Joseph G. Wilson, a circuit court judge in Oregon.
